Cell phone use may be associated with injuries.
Mechanism:
(1) distraction with subsequent accident (talking, texting, reading, game playing)
(2) battery fire or explosion
(3) mechanical injury
(4) overuse or misuse injuries (use of shoulder to hold phone to ear)
(5) reaching for or dropping
Types of injuries:
(1) lacerations
(2) contusions or abrasions
(3) burns
(4) internal organ damage
(5) fracture or dislocation
(6) psychological dependency
