Indications for starting an albumin infusion - 1 or both of the following at 8-12 hours post-burn:

(1) IV infusion rate > 1500 mL per hour

(2) projected 24-hour total infusion >= 250 mL per kg

Start: 8-12 hours after burn

Ends: 48 hour after burn

Interval: 36 to 40 hours

Fluid: 5% albumin or fresh frozen plasma
