Surgical resection of an adrenal myelolipoma may be indicated in certain circumstances.
Indications for surgical resection of an adrenal myelolipoma:
(1) symptomatic (abdominal or flank pain)
(2) diameter > 10 cm
(3) enlarging in size
(4) any doubt about the diagnosis
A patient who does not have surgical resection should have a close followup.
