Indications for nonsurgical management:

(1) undisplaced fracture of the olecranon with intact soft tissue extensor mechanism

(2) secure prosthesis and fracture of the humeral diaphysis

(3) periarticular (condylar, epicondylar) fractures of the humerus

(4) undisplaced cracks in the bone

 

where:

• Periprosthetic fractures of the coronoid process are rare.
