Transabdominal amnioinfusion is beneficial for patients with oligohydramnios.
Indications - oligohydramnios with:
(1) pressure on the umbilical cord with variable decelerations
(2) risk of pulmonary hypoplasia
(3) premature rupture of the membranes (PROM)
(4) need for "environmental" improvement
(5) need for accurate ultrasound exam
Contraindications:
(1) condition with poor prognosis (bilateral renal agenesis, etc)
(2) lack of technical expertise
