Patient selection: symptomatic peripheral arterial disease

Factors impacting the quality of life:

(1) ability to walk without stumbling

(2) greater walking distance and speed

(3) ability to climb stairs

(4) ability to perform bathing and other activities of daily living (ADL)

(5) ability to transfer between bed and chair safely

Addressing the independence and self-respect of the patient can improve that patient's quality of life.
