Description

Quinn et al report the ICU Admission Tool for Congenital Heart Catheterization (iCATCH) for evaluating a patient with congenital heart disease. This uses catheterization risk categories and categories for pre-procedure cardiac status. The authors are from Boston Children's Hospital.

Patient selection: congenital heart disease, two ventricles

Parameters:

(1) oxygen saturation in percent

(2) right ventricular systolic pressure as percent of systemic

(3) anticipated pulmonary vascular resistance in indexed Woods Units (WU)

(4) ventricular function

(5) systemic atrioventricular valve regurgitation (AVVR)

Categories of risk

(1) low

(2) medium

(3) high
