Hydatiduria refers to hydatid cyst material in the urine. It is pathognomonic for renal hydatid cysts that has ruptured into the collecting system.
The hydatiduria may be macroscopic or microscopic.
Macroscopic findings may include:
(1) gelatinous material
(2) membranes resembling grape skins
(3) intact cysts
Microscopic findings consist of larval parts.
The cyst material may be associated with:
(1) hematuria
(2) lumbar pain, which may be colicky
