Description

Larson developed two charts for evaluating the hip and was intended for use with all hip disorders. This implements Chart 2 for hip evaluation.

Evaluation sections:

(1) pain (40%)

(2) function ability (30%)

(3) gait (15%)

(4) anatomic assessment (15%)

anatomic assessment subscore =

= (points for flexion) + (points for abduction) + (points for shortening) + (points for Trendelenberg)

hip evaluation score =

= SUM(points for 4 evaluation sections)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 100%

• The greater the score, the greater the function and the less the disability.
