Description

A skin lesion may be a clinical manifestation of an underlying infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV).


Dermatoses that have been associated with early infection:

(1) urticaria

(2) erythema nodosum

(3) erythema multiforme

 

Dermatoses that may be seen in patients with established infections:

(1) pruritis

(2) cryoglobulinemic vasculitis

(3) polyarteritis nodosa (PAN)

(4) porphyria cutanea tarda

(5) lichen planus

(6) thrombocytopenic purpura

(7) psoriasis

 

Other skin findings may include:

(1) skin lesions associated with injection drug use
