Description

The volume of a hematoma associated with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage can be calculated from the CT image.

Patient: hematoma from spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage

Parameters:

(1) S = area in the maximally involved slice in square cm

(2) H = height of the hematoma (number of slices with hematoma times the slice thickness in cm)

H =

= (number of slices) * (slice thickness)

volume of hematoma in cubic cm =

= (0.5) * S * H

= PI() /6 * S * H
