Train surfing refers to riding on the top of railroad cars.
Situations where trains surfing occurs:
(1) rural areas of third world countries, when trains are overcrowded
(2) urban challenge for adolescents and young adults, usually male
Hazards
(1) falling off
(2) collision with objects near the train
(3) electrical burns from overhead high tension cables
Risk factors for injury:
(1) intoxication
(2) bad weather
(3) poor visibility
(4) unexpected train stop
