Description

Some benzodiazepines may cause a hangover the next morning after being used as a hypnotic agent. Severe symptoms can result in injury or discontinuation in its use.


Hangover symptoms:

(1) amnesia

(2) confusion ("fuzzy")

(3) feeling "dopey"

(4) feeling tired

(5) feeling weak

(6) lightheadedness or dizziness

(7) unsteady gait

(8) feeling clumsy

(9) headache

(10) blurred vision

(11) nausea and vomiting

(12) epigastric distress or diarrhea

 

Complications:

(1) fall injury, especially in the elderly

(2) motor vehicle accidents

(3) accidents using machinery
