Description

The Taylor-Pelmear stages in the hand-arm vibration syndrome was an early classification scheme based on evaluation of vibration-exposed workers. It has been subsequently modified to meet a variety of needs, including better separation of the vascular and neurological components of injury.

2	blanching of 1 or more fingers with numbness, usually confined to winter	slight interference with home and social activities; no interference at work
3	extensive blanching, frequent episodes summer and winter	definite interference at work, at home and with social activities; restriction of hobbies
4	extensive blanching, frequent episodes summer and winter	definite interference at work, at home and with social activities; restriction of hobbies; occupation changes to avoid further vibration exposure
