A patient who has received a COVID-19 vaccine may rarely develop a condition in the Guillain-Barre Spectrum.
Patient selection: recent receipt of COVID-19 vaccine
Clinical features:
(1) limb weakness or paralysis
(2) ataxia
(3) variable sensory neuropathy with paresthesias
(4) bulbar dysfunction and facial weakness
(5) respiratory failure
(6) dysautonomia
Differential diagnosis:
(1) other causes of Guillain-Barre syndrome, including COVID-19 infection
(2) other causes of neurologic dysfunction
