Description

Gary et al reported the Graz Critical Limb Ischemia Score for evaluating a patient with peripheral arterial disease. This can help to identify a patient at high risk for critical limb ischemia. The authors are from Medical University Graz in Austria.

Patient selection: peripheral arterial occlusive disease

Outcome: critical limb ischemia (CLI)

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) type 2 diabetes

(3) history of myocardial infarction

(4) therapy with low molecular weight heparin (LMWH)

(5) therapy with cardiac glycosides

(6) therapy with loop diuretics

(7) therapy with statin

Interpretation:

• minimum score: -1

• maximum score: 10

• The higher the score the greater the risk of critical limb ischemia.
