Description

A number or risk factors may cause a symptomatic exacerbation in a patient with Goodpasture's disease. A patient with Goodpasture's disease should avoid exposure to these factors.


 

Risk factors for exacerbation or relapse:

(1) smoking cigarettes

(2) smoking cocaine

(3) exposure to volatile hydrocarbons

(4) exposure to chlorine gas

(5) influenza or other respiratory infection

(6) sepsis

(7) fluid overload
