Description

The Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) separates patients into risk groups based on clinical findings. The patient group can be used for management planning.


 

Parameters:

(1) symptoms, using the Medical Research Council Dyspnea (MRCD) classification or COPD Assessment Test (CAT)

(2) airflow limitations (using GOLD spriometry classification)

(3) exacerbations
