Persistent redness may involve a variety of tones. A patient with darker skin may show skin that is purplish, lighter or darker than normal.
Category 1A may show:
(1) skin that is macerated, tense or swollen
(2) intact vesicles or bullae
(3) burning, tingling, itching or pain
