Friedman Tongue Position (FTP, Modified Mallampati Classification)

Description

Friedman et al developed a classification of tongue position as a modification of the Mallampati class. This can be useful both in laryngoscopy and evaluation of a patient with obstructive sleep apnea. The authors are from Rush University in Chicago.

Patient instruction: mouth open with tongue in natural position
