Morley et al used the FRAIL scale to screen an adult for frailty.
FRAIL is an acronym for fatigue, resistance, ambulation, illness and weight loss.
Parameters:
(1) Fatigue: feel tired always or most of the time over the past 4 weeks
(2) Resistance: have difficulty walking 10 steps on own without help and without resting
(3) Ambulation: have difficulty walking several hundred years on own without assistance and not using aids
(4) Illness (>=5 out of 11diseases: hypertension, diabetes, chronic lung disease, cancer , heart attack, angina, congestive heart failure, arthritis, asthma, stroke, kidney disease)
(5) weight Loss: unexplained, > 5% over past year
