Description

Certain foods may reduce the amount of flatus that a person may produce. There may be considerable inter-individual variability in how effective each food is, and in how much is required for effect.

Dairy products (may be less effective for someone with lactose intolerance):

(1) plain yoghurt

(2) buttermilk

Plants:

(1) fennel

(2) dill

(3) peppermint (and peppermint oil)

(4) aniseed

(5) very ripe bananas

Other:

In addition, the person should avoid foods that increase flatus as much as possible.
