Certain foods may reduce flatus odor. In Japan someone went so far as to develop capsules that would make one's gas aromatic and so not offend.


Dairy products (may be less effective for someone with lactose intolerance):

(1) plain yoghurt

(2) buttermilk



(1) spinach

(2) parsley

(3) peppermint (and peppermint oil)


In addition, the person should avoid foods that cause an offensive odor as much as possible.
