Usually ticks are fairly easy to find. Sometimes finding a tick can be a challenge.
Sites where an attached tick can be missed:
(1) eyelid
(2) in or behind the ear
(3) hair
(4) between the buttocks
Ticks can be missed if:
(1) there was a failure to remove all clothes
(2) nymph
(3) a cursory exam performed
(4) the exam was stopped after one or two found
(5) it is beneath a cast or wound dressing
(6) the lighting was poor
