Description

If a series of diagnostic tests are performed, then the individual test performance characteristics can be used to calculate the final post-test probability.

Parameters:

(1) initial pre-test probability (typically the prevalence of the condition in the population)

(2) sensitivity and specificity for each test

The post-test probability for the first test is used as the pre-test probability for the second and so on until all of the testing is complete.

For the implementation the assumption is that all of the tests had positive results.
