The FIB-8 Index is an extension of the FIB-4 score and is a noninvasive score that can help to identify a patient with significant hepatic fibrosis.
Parameters:
(1) FIB-4 score of Sterling et al based on age, serum AST, platelet count and serum ALT, typically in range from 0 to 5
(2) body mass index in kg per square meter
(3) albumin to globulin ratio
(4) serum GGT in U/L
(5) diabetes

Interpretation:
• The low cutoff for >= F2 fibrosis is 0.88 and the high cutoff is 1.77.
• In Prasoppokakorn et al a score from 1,1 to 2.4 was seen in F0-1 and 2.2 to 4.0 in >=F2.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve is 0.77.
