Vaizey et al developed a fecal incontinence score. It resembles the score proposed by Jorge and Wexner (above). The authors are from St. Mark's Hospital in Middlesex and the Middlesex Hospital in London.
Parameters:
(1) frequency of incontinence for solid stool
(2) frequency of incontinence for liquid stool
(3) frequency of incontinence for gas
(4) frequency of fecal incontinence altering lifestyle
(5) need to wear a pad or anal plug
(6) taking a medication that causes constipation
(7) inability to defer defecation for 15 minutes
