A number of extrapulmonary findings may be encountered in a patient infected with Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
Neurological findings may include:
(1) encephalitis
(2) meningoencephalitis
(3) cerebrallar ataxia
(4) asepetic meningitis
(5) transverse myelitis
(6) Guillain-Barre syndrome
(7) polyradiculitis
(8) peripheral neuropathy
(9) cranial nerve palsy (abducens nerve palsy, other)
(10) stroke
(11) SIADH
(12) psychological disorders
Aural findings may include:
(1) sudden hearing loss
(2) otitis media
Ophthalmologic findings may include:
(1) optic neuritis
(2) conjunctivitis
(3) anterior uveitis
(4) retinitis
(5) retinal hemorrhages
(6) iritis
(7) swelling of the optic disc
