Description

A patient with an acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwannoma) may experience exercise-induced vertigo.


Patient selection: vertigo triggered by exercise

 

The patient may or may not have unilateral sensorineural deafness.

 

Hyperventilation (for 30-60 seconds) results in ipsilateral beating nystagmus.

 

A head CT scan can identify the mass.
