Barriers to exercise:

(1) exercise intolerance

(2) therapy-induced cardiac dysfunction

(3) emotional distress and/or psychological issues

(4) poor health-related quality of life

(5) non-cardiac organ impairments

(6) deconditioning

 

Engagement in regular exercise may have a number of benefits for the patient. An exercise prescription should take into account the patient's specific issues and progess at the patient's pace.
