King et al used a Team Improvement Promotes Success (TIPS) card to evaluate trauma team performance during simulated training. This can help participants provide feedback about the experience which can be used to improve team performance. The authors are from the University of Miami and the U.S. Army Training Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
The original TIPS card was graded with a 5-point Likert scale from 1 to 5 for responses strongly disagree to strongly agree.
Parameters:
(1) focus on patient
(2) plan for care
(3) execution of plan
(4) conflict resolution between members
(5) oversight of critical tasks
(6) communication to the team about the patient's status
(7) learning based on previous events (sense of improved performance with experience)
