The European Heart Rate Association (EHRA) developed a classification for atrial fibrillation based on symptom severity. This can help to determine the impact of symptoms on the patient and can be used to monitor the effect of interventions over time.
Patient selection: atrial fibrillation
Parameters:
(1) symptoms associated with atrial fibrillation
(1a) palpitations
(1b) fatigue
(1c) dizziness
(1d) dyspnea
(1e) chest pain
(1f) anxiety
(2) impact of symptoms on daily activities (impairment)
