TNF-receptor associated periodic syndrome (TRAPS) is one of the autoinflammatory periodic fevers. The Eurofever Project and PRINTO developed a score for identifying affected patients.
Patient selection: periodic fever
Parameters:
(1) periorbital edema
(2) duration of febrile episodes
(3) migratory rash
(4) myalgia
(5) affected relatives (familial)
(6) vomiting
(7) aphthous stomatitis

= SUM(points for all 7 parameters)
Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 100
• A score >= 43 indicates a patient who may have TRAPS.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve was 0.95.
• The sensitivity ranges from 80 to 85% and specificity ranges from 87 to 91% (training and validation series).
