EULAR/PReS reported criteria for the diagnosis of Takayasu Arteritis in a pediatric patient.
Patient selection: pediatric patient
Criteria for the diagnosis of Takayasu Arteritis - both of the following:
(1) abnormality of the aorta and/or its main branches (by conventional angiography, MRI angiography, etc
(2) one or more of the following:
(2a) decreased peripheral arterial pulses and/or claudication of extremities
(2b) blood pressure difference in the upper extremities > 10 mm Hg
(2c) bruits over the aorta and/or its major branches
(2d) hypertension (using age and racial appropriate cut-offs)
Alternative diagnoses should be excluded (not listed as a criterion).
