Description

EULAR/PReS reported consensus criteria for the diagnosis of Henoch-Schonlein Purpura in a pediatric population. This is a modification of the ACR criteria.


Patient selection: pediatric patient

 

Pattern of vasculitis: non-granulomatous inflammation of small blood vessels (with granulocytes)

 

Clinical criteria for the diagnosis of Henoch Schonlein purpura:

(1) palpable purpura

(2) one or more of the following:

(2a) diffuse abdominal pain

(2b) predominance of IgA deposition in immunofluorescence performed on any biopsy

(2c) arthritis or arthralgias

(2d) hematuria and/or proteinuria (renal involvement)
