Description

The European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) developed criteria for evaluating the therapeutic response in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis.

Parameters:

(1) measure of disease activity before therapy

(2) measure of disease activity after therapy (using the same measure as before therapy)

Measures of disease activity:

(1) DAS

(2) DAS28

change in disease activity after therapy vs before =

= (measure of disease activity after therapy) - (measure of disease activity before therapy)

A change > 1.2 is considered a significant change.

Response Criteria Using DAS

where:

• A DAS < 2.6 indicates being in remission using the ARA criteria.
