EULAR developed a disease activity index for primary Sjogren's syndrome called the ESSDAI. This consists of 12 subscores measuring various components of disease activity. The authors are from the European League Against Rheumatism Sjogren's Task Force.
Patient selection: primary Sjogren's syndrome
Stable long-lasting findings are designated "no activity".
Exclude findings associated with another diagnosis.
Parameters for central nervous system (CNS) subscore:
(1) cranial nerve involvement of central origin
(2) optic neuritis
(3) multiple sclerosis-like syndrome
(4) central vasculitis with ischemia
(5) seizures
(6) transverse myelitis
(7) lymphocytic meningitis
(8) other
