Description

Estrogen therapy may be associated with pancreatitis in some patients.


Features:

(1) onset of pancreatitis following the start of estrogen therapy

(2) resolution after estrogen withdrawal

(3) exclusion of other causes

(4) recurrence on re-exposure to estrogen

(5) severe hypertriglyceridemia (presumably with increased chylomicrons)
