Description

Bjork et al revised the equations for glomerular filtration rate (GFR) from the original Lund-Malmo Study. One group is not based on lean body mass while another group is. The authors are from Skane University Hospital in Lund and Lasarettet Trelleborg in Sweden.

Patient selection: Swedish Caucasians, ages >= 18 years

Parameters:

(1) plasma creatinine in µmol/L

(2) sex (0 if male, 1 if female)

(3) age in years

(4) lean body mass in kilograms (by the method of James)

Exponent

2.5 + (0.0121 * (150 - (creatinine))) - (0.0158 * (age)) + (0.438*LN(age))

female and >= 150

2.5 - (0.926 * LN((creatinine)/150)) - (0.0158 * (age)) + (0.438*LN(age))
