Description

A man with chronic exposure to arsenic may be at risk for erectile dysfunction (ED). The risk for erectile dysfunction increases with the number of risk factors present.


Risk factors for erectile dysfunction:

(1) living in a region with endemic arsenic exposure, especially when exposure > 50 parts per billion (ppb)

(2) cigarette smoking

(3) diabetes mellitus

(4) cardiovascular disease

(5) age >= 60 years

(6) low free serum testosterone (< 0.23 nmol/L)
