Parameters:
(1) arterial PaCO2 in mm Hg
(2) end-tidal CO2 in mm Hg (ETCO2)
From Figure 2:
ETCO2 for all patients =
= (0.5507 * (PaCO2)) + 16.75
ETCO2 for patients under 50 years of age =
= (0.682 * (PaCO2)) + 21.1
If these are rearranged:
PaCO2 for all patients =
= (1.816 * (ETCO2)) - 30.416
PaCO2 for patients under 50 years of age =
= (1.466 * (ETCO2)) - 30.938
