Description

Weinbrenner et al reported equations for estimating the height of an older adult from the demi-span. This can be helpful if the patient is unable to stand up straight. The authors are from Universidad Miguel Hernandez Elche-Alicante in Valencia.

Demi-span is half of the full armspan. It is the distance from the center of the spine to the tip of the middle finger of the outstretched arm held at 90 degrees abduction.

Patient selection: adult >= 65 years
