Equations of Niewenweg et al for Estimating the Height of a Dutch Adult at 21 Years of Age Based on Current Height

Interestingly the authors found a secular trend for an increase in height over time. Male height went from 169 cm in 1910 to 185 cm in 2000. Female height went from 157 cm to 172 cm over the same period.

= (current height) + (0.042 * ((age) - 21)) + (0.0015 * (((age) - 21)^2))

height at 21 years of age for a Dutch female adult =

= (current height) + (0.039 * ((age) - 21)) + (0.0019 * (((age) - 21)^2))
