Description

Aristizabal et al reported equations for estimating the percent body fat of an adult woman in Columbia. The authors are from Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin. Columbia.

Patient selection: adult female living in Columbia, from 18 to 59 years

Parameters:

(1) triceps skinfold thickness in mm (TST)

(2) calf skinfold thickness in mm (CST)

(3) abdominal circumference in cm (AC)

(4) age in years

(5) height in cm (HGT)

(6) midaxillary skinfold thickness in mm (MAST)

(7) body weight in kilograms

percent body fat =

= (0.264 * (weight)) + (0.381 * (AC)) - (0.279 * (HGT)) + 27.39

= (0.324 * (TST)) + (0.133 * (CST)) + (0.347 * (AC)) + (0.068 * (age)) - (0.135 * (HGT)) + 11.76

= (0.404 * (TST)) + (0.153 * (MAST)) + (0.264 * (AC)) + (0.069 * (age)) - (0.099 * (HGT)) + 11.37
