Taufiq et al developed an equation for estimating the birth weight of a neonate from the mid-upper-arm circumference (MUAC). The authors are from the University of Hassanudin and Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Indonesia.

Performance:
• An arm circumference < 10.5 cm was 100% sensitive and 99.4% specific for low birth weight.
