Song et al estimated the length from the maxillary incisors to the lower esophageal junction in Korean adolescents and adults. This length can be helpful when inserting a pH probe into the lower esophagus.
Patient selection: 16 to 77 years of age

= (0.242 * (height in cm)) + 0.2078
Day et al found that the estimated length was fairly close to that measured directly (Figure 1).
