Description

Kronfeld performed tomography on eyes following fistulizing operations for glaucoma. He developed an equation to describe the flow characteristics of the aqueous fluid. The author is from the University of Illinois in Chicago.


 

Parameters:

(1) pressure in mm Hg (ranges from 3.4 to 30)

(2) outflow facility (C) in µL/mm Hg/min (ranges from 0.10 to 0.70)

(3) resistance units (range from 1 to 7)

 

resistance units =

= 1 / C

 

pressure =

= (3.3 * ((resistance) - 3.4)) + 14.6 =

= (3.3 * (resistance)) + 3.38

 

resistance =

= ((pressure) - 3.38) / 3.3 =

= (0.303 * (pressure)) - 1.024

 

C =

= 3.3 / ((pressure) - 3.38)
