Description

Jeong and Jantz used an equation to estimate the decline in height ("shrinkage") that an adult Korean experiences over time. The authors are from the Joint Base Pearl Harbor and the University of Tennessee.

Premise: The peak height for a Korean adult is at age 20 years. Thereafter there is a decline of 0,0426 cm per year.

Paramters:

(1) stature at 20 years of age

(2) specified adult age in years

stature at specified age in cm =

= (stature at 20 years of age in cm) - (0.0426 * ((specified age) -20))

This can be rewritten:

stature at specified age in cm =

= (stature at 20 years of age in cm) + 0.852 - (0.0426 * (specified age))
