Amonette et al reported an equation for estimating peak power during a vertical jump by an adolescent or young adult. The authors are the University of Houston Clear Lake and California State University.
Subject selection: 12 to 24 years of age
Parameters:
(1) vertical height distance in centimeters
(2) body mass in kilograms
peak power in watts =
= (63.6 * (vertical distance)) + (42.7 * (body mass)) - 1846.5
Performance:
• The standard error of the estimate was 250.7 watts.
