Endothelial Activation and Stress Index (EASIX) and Its Variations in the Prediction Cytokine Release Syndrome After Chimeric Antigen Receptor T (CART) Cell Therapy
Luft et al used the Endothelial Activation and Stress Index (EASIX) to evaluate patients with graft-versus-host disease after allogeneic stem-cell transplants. The score can be used in other conditions such as prediction of cytokine release syndrome following CAR-T therapy. It was subsequently modified by Pennisi et al.
• The m-EASIX is able to identify a patient who will develop severe cytokine release syndrome before the onset of severe symptoms. The median m-EASIX at lymphodepletion was 26.3 (range 13.7 to 52.39).
• The EASIX and s-EASIX prior to lymphodepletion were associated with CRS grade >=3. The cutoffs were 1.85 for EASIX and 2.134 for s-EASIX.
